9th FMEA Forum in Osnabrück

On 18/19. In February 2014, the 9th Osnabrück FMEA Forum takes place at the Center for Environmental Communication of the German Federal Foundation for the Environment. In the last few years, the FMEA Forum has become a key meeting place for FMEA users in the annual cycle. This is achieved by a concept characterized by:

The product emergence process at BPW Bergische Achsen KG - risk-oriented control of the use of methods in product development leads to an increase in efficiency (Michael Ley and Patrick Glöckner, BPW Bergische Achsen KG). The lecture presents the FMEA as a control instrument for project head. Extensive application experience and practical examples will provide the participants with valuable knowledge.
Evaluate latent customer requirements with FMEA (M.Sc. Annika Neumann, Chair of Production Measurement Technology and Quality Management, Tool Machine Laboratory of the RWTH Aachen University).
The core question of this article is: "How is the customer defaulted?" Anyone who understands the customer can effectively and efficiently develop products that meet customer expectations. The article shows objectification procedures and the use of the product FMEA.

SOTIF HARA and FMEA: Approach, Differences, and Synergistic Intersections Ms. Dipl.-Ing. She provides an insight with this guest contribution in our FMEA blog. Not all risk analysis are the same, even if many normative regulations, especially in the automotive environment, require one. Currently, with the increase in development activities in the field of autonomous driving, new standards are being launched and also require a risk consideration at the beginning of the development of safety systems. It is often mistakenly assumed that an FMEA - which has been known worldwide since the early 20th century - can be used synonymously for the term risk analysis. We clear up this mindset using an example of the SOTIF standard.
