FMEA-MSR

The term FMEA stands for ‘failure mode and effects analysis’. In this context, MSR stands for ‘monitoring and system response’.

The FMEA-MSR analyzes and evaluates conceivable malfunctions of a product in customer operation, whereby possible technical errors and their effects are examined, in particular with regard to safety, while taking into account existing protective mechanisms. A more detailed description can be found in the FMEA handbook of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG).
