IRIS

The technical standard IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) defines the requirements and the QM systems of railway manufacturers and their suppliers as a supplement to the requirements of ISO 9001.

The technical standard IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) was developed by the Union des Industries Ferroviaires Européennes (UNIFE) based in Brussels in close collaboration with the leading railway system manufacturers as an internationally valid requirement on the quality management systems of railway manufacturers and, in particular, their suppliers of equipment components, and engineering service providers. IRIS is based on the requirements of ISO 9001 and contains additional railway-specific requirements.
