Coaching is the provision of professional supervision and support by people with managerial and controlling functions and by experts in companies and organizations. It relates to technical and factual and/or psychological and sociodynamic questions or problems relating to the world of work.

Coaching takes place on the basis of a sustainable and voluntarily desired relationship characterized by mutual acceptance and trust. The coachee (client/customer) receives coaching voluntarily and the coach ensures them discretion.

Coaching is individual support at a process level. The coach does not provide any direct proposed solutions, but accompanies the coachee and encourages them to question behavior and problems and develop their own solutions. The conversation always aims to promote self-reflection and perception, awareness and responsibility, and self-help/self-management.

Coaching is results- and solution-oriented and thus requires understandable criteria for the achievement of specific goals and an explicit order clarification for topics, frameworks, and interventions.
