Detection action

Detection actions are used to detect existing failure causes or failure types.

In the context of FMEA, detection actions must be described in an understandable manner. Additional information such as responsibilities, completion dates and processing statuses is crucial. The effectiveness of the detection actions must be confirmed.

In the Design FMEA, the detection actions represent the evidence procedures for development results (verifications and validations). In the Process FMEA, the detection actions represent the testing procedures to identify the respective failure types and protect internal and external customers from defective units.
